Belonging to a parish community is the very plan that Jesus Christ our Savior had in mind: to gather together the new People of God in an assembly which celebrates the mysteries of the Christian Faith and which strives to live his commandment of "loving one another" as He loved us, by sharing our lives as much as possible. Our relationship with God is not a private enterprise, because - as Vatican II said - God does not make people holy and save them merely as individuals, without bond or link between one another. Rather has it pleased Him to bring men together as one people, a people which acknowledges Him in truth and serves Him in holiness.
